Vocaloid,...is not an anime!!

Vocaloid is a singing synthesizer created by Yamaha and Crypton. It is basically just an application which allows composers to practice their skills and let them have their computers sing their song for them.

So why are there Vocaloid characters?
Vocaloid characters are made to represent the presets or voice banks of the synthesizer. So, in short,…
Vocaloid is not an anime.

Anyway, I am not here to discuss about the basics of Vocaloid. Everyone can google it anyway. I am here to show you some of the reasons why I am amazed of vocaloids.

Let’s start with Hatsune Miku. Coming from the 2nd version release of the application, Hatsune Miku, became the most famous of all vocaloids. Her cute young voice is easy to be manipulated to adopt to any genre, but most of her songs were mellow, “loli” and soft.

Here is an example of her song...

Hatsune Miku’s second release became quite a hit too. From her cute loli voice to different presets like sweet and dark voices, Hatsune Miku Append became the current perfect Japanese singing synthesizer.

Next is the Kagamine Vocaloids. Many people think that these two vocaloids are twins because of same character design and voice bank or base. But the truth is, Kagamine Rin and Kagamine Len are not twins. Their vocaloid surname “Kagamine” came from the japanese words “Kagami” which means ”mirror” and “Ne” which means “sound”. These two vocaloids are the mirror of one another, so basically, they are not twins.

Kagamine Len is the “shota” voice vocaloid. Len-kun can sing sweet songs, as well as Japanese rap and sexylyrics. That is the reason why he is quite popular with some vocaloid fangirls.

Kagamine Rin is the cute loli and happy voice vocaloid. Rin-chan can sing cute upbeat songs as well as slow, mellow and sad songs.

Last for now is Megurine Luka. The beauty-vocaloid is also on her own spotlight nowadays. Luka-chan’s voice originally was made for Japanese “older” voice preset but Vocaloid users found out that her voice can easily adopt to any genres like rock, mellow, sad and cute younger voice. Rencently, Luka-chans voice are very much used for English songs because her voicebank carries both Japanese and English presets.

As of now, these are just the information about vocaloids that I will share to you guys. I will update and tell you everything I know about vocaloids, so stay tuned. ^__^
